Burlap Wall Art For Kid’s Room

I love Burlap and I’ve always wanted to create something fun in my kid’s rooms that has some burlap on it.

I came up with this quick project to put their name and date of birth on a piece of canvas that I stapled burlap on. It was an easy and rewarding project, because now both my daughter and son have their name and year of birth on their wall.

It is also nice to have a child’s complete date of birth on a canvas.  At this point, however I thought the canvas itself was too small to cramp everything together. I will have to make 2 new signs with their full date of birth…but not yet…as I have other projects on the go I wish to tackle before summer!

Here is the canvas.

I have stapled the burlap material onto it.

My son’s name starts with the letter “K”, so I made a stencil that I had cut out, mounted it on the canvas and used black acrylic paint to paint the letter onto the burlap. I had purchased the number stencils from Michael’s.

I had purchased from Michael’s a few more stencils just to try them, here’s one of a planet that I added onto his sign.

Used another stamp to dab lightly on the burlap to make it look a little aged.

My daughter’s name starts with the letter “M” and I decided to switch the layout.

I stamped Mira’s sign with a flower stamp to make it look vintage.

Final result, voila, plain and simple ♥
